New Team Member!

Hey Everyone..... It is time for that update we were telling you about! We’re very pleased to announce the newest addition to the Elevated Mountain Guides™ team, Dylan Gates! He is a Senior at University of Missouri – Columbia (aka “Mizzou”). As Dylan goes into below, a beautiful concurrence of happenstance and intention brought us together for what we hope will be a very advantageous relationship. From our end of things, an individual with all the characteristics we were looking for in an intern, walked through our door within weeks of us making the decision to add an intern to our team. The group of volunteers he was a part of was connected to us last-minute from our friends over at Save Our Canyons. Thanks Alex Schmidt for thinking of us! Dylan’s dynamism and invaluable skill set has already begun making its mark with our work, and we are so excited for the months ahead. Now let’s hear from Dylan in his own words ~

Quick Facts:

  • I am from St. Louis, Missouri

  • I LOVE NONPROFITS and their work to better our world!

  • My personal life moto/ slogan is "influencing positive change"

My name is Dylan Gates and I am the new social media intern! I am so excited to be part of the Elevated Mountain Guides team! Like I said in my bio on our 'About Our Staff' page I am a Senior at the University of Missouri- Columbia (aka Mizzou). It might seem unconventional, however, I am doing this internship remotely so I can finish my last semester and get credit for this learning experience.

As my bio says, I met Nikki and her husband Erkki while on a service trip over Thanksgiving break (see picture below). Our work with them was not scheduled however, it worked out that the team I was with got to help them prepare to go on their recent trip to Peru! This was a great chance to connect more with the local community and make a difference in just a small way. Little did I know that I was going to walk away with a chance to help this amazing organization and their efforts to influence positive change not only in the Salt Lake City community, but abroad too.

Again I am SO EXCITED! With that being said, I want to know what you want to see social media wise! Feel free to comment and message us, on Facebook, Instagram, and even on here! My goal is to build a stronger connection between Elevated Mountain Guides and those who follow and support our mission! The only way I can do that is if you tell us what you want to see, hear, and read more about!
