Hey hey hey friends,
We're back with an update on what we've been up to, what we are currently doing, and what to expect to see in the near future! We have had a busy couple weeks and we need to talk about it with you all!
- TOGETHER WE RAISED $2,500.00 (USD) through our Project Climb Fundraiser!
- We are offering internships this summer (in Salt Lake City)!
- We have an upcoming trip to Peru, to guide groups around and to clean up trails
To give a quick background, we recently held our Project Climb Fundraiser, and all we can say is WOW! There are so many different reasons why WOW explains our reactions. To start, all of our amazing patrons, have been so generous and supportive of our work. We as an organization could not have raised $2,500.00 without our amazing supporters! WOW also explains how we feel about the amazing donations that were provided by our amazing sponsors and other companies. Some of those brands are nationally known, such as Yeti, Skullcandy, and Patagonia. Other donations came from some restaurants and businesses both local and away. Again, WOW, comes to mind when we think of our volunteers and staff! We had amazing music brought to us by our amazing friends Robyn Cage and Tiny Home Music ( Sonya Cotton & Gabe Dominguez). There were also sick photographers going around our event and capturing all the moments. We also had help in gathering donations, set-up, clean up, and running the event. Overall WOW, a huge Thank you from us to you and your belief and support in our organization's efforts. ( below are some awesome pictures from the event)
Another exciting thing that is happening in our organization, is having the opportunity to continue to offer internships. We currently have a social media intern, and we are on the search for one to take his place this summer. Additionally, we are adding opportunities through our Project Climb program. Since we are introducing a new internship, here is a little background and reason behind that decision. We want to be able to provide the best possible experience to our Project Climb youth; in planning for this upcoming summer, we realized we need all the support we can get. This position will get to work with the kids in the program through creating and executing outdoor activities to fulfill our mission of expanding access and expertise in the outdoors. Furthermore, community engagement is one of our key values, and we see offering these internships as an awesome opportunity to support our local college students. If you know anyone or would like to apply for one of these positions, please contact Dylan Gates at email@example.com).
Lastly, this year we are focusing on our curriculum and accreditation for our Wilderness Medicine course. So instead of teaching we are heading down and bringing folks with to check out the area and the school and help with trail maintenance and clean up.
